Pepsinogen I

Pepsinogen is a zymogen of mol wt 43 kDa secreted by stomach mucosa and activated to the endopeptidase pepsin. Serum levels of Pepsinogen 1 & 2 are frequently raised in gastric ulcers, gastric cancers while reduced levels are found in atrophic gastritis.
