Lipase

Lipase is mainly secreted by the pancreas and is released in lipid digestion where it hydrolyzes ester linkages between triglyceride residues. Elevated serum levels are seen in acute pancreatitis and stay high for longer than amylase. Lipase is virtually absent in the urine of healthy people.
