Lactoferrin

Lactoferrin is a globular, multifunctional protein of 80kDa . It is found in milk and other mucosal secretions such as saliva and tears. The protein binds easily to iron, improving the bodies uptake of iron as well as depriving harmful bacteria of it, hence working as an antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial agent.
