Fatty Acid Binding Protein (FABP)

Protein of 14 kDa involved in lipid binding. It takes different forms depending on the body tissue it is isolated from.

For the cardiac sourced product (FABP-H or FABP-3) some studies indicate it may be a better early marker of Myocardial Infarction than Myoglobin. The Liver form (FABP-L or FABP-1) is an indicator in urine of kidney damage.
